Because it is painful to apply an anesthetic is usually required. There is a low risk of scarring and lightening of the skin color. 		Deep Peeling Agents-Croton Oil, Phenol
		These agents remove deep wrinkles, smooth the skin and create a more youthful look. These agents are painful to apply and require an anesthetic. There is a greater potential for scarring and there is always some lightening of the skin. Certain nationalities, such as blacks, asians and latinos may not be a candidate for these peels. What to expect after a moderate or deep peel. Several days to two weeks of crusting and scabbing depending on the depth of the peel. The rejuvenated skin will resemble a sunburn for weeks to months depending of the depth of the peel. The skin will need to be protected from the sunlight for 6-9 months. Skin peeling is an important tool in maintaining good, healthy skin and should be considered by those individuals with damaged and aged skin.
