Endotine Biodegradable Implant products are used for pulling tissue upward and temporarily holding it in place until the the body has enough time to reseal the tissue in the new elevated position. These products are non-toxic and just like absorbable sutures are completely eliminated from the body over time leaving no trace of the implant behind. By pulling the tissue upward, these implants can counter the effects of aging and gravity.
In this gentleman (above), one Endotine ST Implant was placed in the Mid-Face, through incisions hidden in the hairline and inside the mouth. The implant was positioned under the cheek tissue and the implant tines were engaged into the tissue (bottom left photo). Then with gentle pull on the implant the cheek tissue was pulled upward and secured under the incision in the scalp hair. The new position of the cheek pad (bottom right) creates fullness and youthfulness over the cheek bones, while softening the nasolabial lines. This patient also had a Face/Neck Lift which enhanced the effects of the Endotine Implant.
The Thread Face Lift another procedure for lifting the cheek and Mid-Face area cannot create the same effect as the Endotine Implant, because the barbed sutures used in this procedure are unable to produce the same forceful pull and maintain the heaviness of the tissue during the healing process. Unlike the Endotine Implant, sutures can break, stretch or be noticeable under the skin surface.
When to Use the Endotine ST Biodegradable Implant
Early Signs of Aging:
Typically this is someone in their 40's who has deepening of the creases of the Mid-face (Nasolabial lines), hollowness over the cheek bones and no significant neck looseness. These implants can be used without any other procedure to create more youthfulness in the Mid-face.
Later Signs of Aging:
These implants would be additive to a Face and Neck Lift tightening for those individuals who have loose skin in the jowls and neck area.
